Happy Hallowe'en!
Sorry for the lack of posts. I have been working on stuff, but I just haven't gotten around to posting. I'll try to get a regular post written up sometime this week. Until then, you can see my Hallowe'en costume that I wore to work today.

Happy Hallowe'en!!!!!
I hope everyone is having a Happy Hallowe'en. I'm not sure how big of a deal it is in other parts of the world but it's pretty popular here in North America. I had to work all day, but that doesn't mean I didn't take part in the fun.
Grrrr! *Howls at moon* I'm a werewolf, if you can't tell. I initially had claw on, but they quickly fell off. I lost one, but I think I know where, so hopefully I'll find it Monday. Considering I really didn't get to plan too much for it, I think I did alright. I don't think you can see the makeup on my face, but since I can't wear a mask at work, I think I did a decent job. I love the way the pants look though. I bought a ragged pair of jean from a thrift store, cut slits randomly in the legs and hot glued fake fur from the inside with the fur showing. I ended up gluing the slits open a bit too. I also shredded the bottoms too. I should have added some fake fur to the cuffs of the shirt, but maybe anther time. I like the idea, so I'll probably do it again in a few years.
Since I don't usually get too many trick or treaters where I live, I'll probably tat and watch movies this evening. I'm sure some chocolate will get eaten too. Till next time.

Happy Hallowe'en!!
Just a quick update, I'll try to do a proper post later this weekend/early next week. Anyway, I dressed up for work again this year. I'm sure I mentioned it before but, I've never really cared for Hallowe'en. But dressing up for work, does seem to make it better. The leftover chocolate helps too. Anyway, here's a photo for those of you who haven't seen it yet on Facebook.
I am a little disappointed that there were only a handful of people who knew who I was dressed up as. I even wore a name tag with the characters name on it. I really got annoyed with the Smurf guesses very quickly. Towards the end of my shift, some of the more older kids were stopping at the store after school and there was some recognition from them. For those who don't know who I am, I'm Finn the Human from the TV show Adventure Time. I made Finn an adult, thus the beard. It think it looks better if Finn had a proper blond beard rather than my dark brown/black beard. It also hides most of my piercings, including one I never shared when I got it; that would be a labret. The eyebrow piercing which is normally hidden, I were a hat at work, is very prominent.
I am currently working on a bauble tatted project. I hope to finish it this weekend, if I can focus on it long enough. My book on bauble tatting arrived, and wow is it awesome. I'll share the Windmills doily at its current status at the same time. Till next time.

Happy Hallowe'en!
I hope everyone has had a Happy Hallowe'en. I had to work today, but I did get dressed up.
Arrrrrr mateys! Technically I was a generic pirate, but most people assumed I was Captain Jack Sparrows from the Pirates of the Caribbean, so I went with it. I've been meaning to post, but life (and work!) keeps getting in the way. I do plan to post on Saturday, as I know I won't be working. So I'll share what little tatting I've gotten done, and my new books, and even the HDT I bought from Jess. It's been snowing a bit here, not much and I'm hoping it melts away for a while. With it being cooler out, I actually feel inspired to start tatting snowflakes. I think this year I'm going to go through all my HDT and use up the "snowflake coloured" ones.
Till next time. Happy Hallowe'en all ye land lubbers!

PS: For anyone interested, I will be offering free shipping in my Etsy shop starting over the next few days. The coupon code on the right side bar still applies. I've also made some, um, price changes.

Happy Halloween!!!!!!
As the title says, I hope everyone is having a Happy Halloween. I had to work today, but my workplace allows us to dress up. There wasn't very many of us who dressed up, but it was fun anyway. At least I didn't have to wear my uniform! Anyway, I do have a small amount of tatting to share.
I decided to tat my own Ripley the Ghost, though not in white:
The thread I used is Lizbeth size 20 in colour #149 Peacock Blues. Who said ghosts have to be white? I had a heck of a time following the pattern. I wonder if there are errors in it that were missed? I know one ring, R8 should be a SR. And the SR9 should be R9. R13 should also be SR13.
Finally, here is a picture of me, wearing my costume:

New Design in The Works
Let me say one thing before I begin. I better not get sick again till, well, for awhile anyway. I was feeling better last Sunday. However I work up early (and I mean early) Monday morning with one heck of a sore back. I guess I must have done something to it while at work the previous week. So I haven't done much until a few days ago. My back is feeling better, its a little stiff right now. Anyway, I started work on a new tatted design.
But first, I wanted to provide a little information about the conductive thread I used last week. The thread is in fact thread. Specifically, it is silver plated nylon thread (apparently; I don't know how you plate nylon). It is about the same weight as sewing thread, maybe about a size 100. I used two threads together to tat the sample in the video. I also used four strands as a test, but I haven't compared it to see what size it is yet. Being a thread, it tatted quite well, not stiff like wire. More info can be found here. This project will probably be put on the back burner for a while; I've got Hallowe'en and then Christmas tatting to start thinking about. This brings me to my newest design.
With Hallowe'en just around the corner, I figured I'd better get my next design finished. Without any further ado, here is (tentatively) Ripley the Ghost:
I say tentatively since I may change his name in the final draft. He began as a variant of my Sine Wave bookmark. However, I didn't like how the Sine Wave pattern worked with Ripley-so I really can't call him Sine Wave Ghost. I'm almost happy with how the design has turned out. I'm not happy with his ectoplasmic trail (not sure what else to call it; its the bottom thingy). I'll be refining the pattern over the next day or two. Then I have to write out the pattern. A few people volunteered to test tat my pattern on inTatters, so I should take them up on the offer, if they still want to. With any luck I'll have the pattern available for download early next week.
That's it for now. I plan on going to my parents house this weekend. So I probably won't post until I get back. Till next time.

Happy Halloween!!!!!!!!!!!!
I figured I should do a quick post. As the title says:
Happy Halloween!!!!!!!!!
Subtle, isn't it? Dressing up made the day quite enjoyable. In case you're wondering, I made the tail and the horns. The horns were made using polymer clay (Fimo), and attached to my head with a black cord. A lot of people (customers and co-workers alike) wondered how the horns were attached. Unless you stood fairly close to me, you couldn't see the cord. The costume turned out better than I though, especially since I altered my original idea. I had wanted to get a red jacket to wear, with the horns growing out of a hat. But the used clothing store I visited didn't have red jackets or suitable hats, so a black jacket was chosen and I opted to not wear a hat. And oddly, a lot of people (mostly co-workers) commented how the costume was very appropriate. I just can't figure out why.
That's all for today. I do have some tatting to show, but its not Halloween related, so I'll make another post about it soon. Later.

It still is Halloween (here anyways). To be honest with you, I really don't like Halloween. I know I can almost hear the screams of horror from those of you who like the holiday. I guess I outgrew the holiday many years ago. Until today.
My workplace encouraged those of us who had to work today to dress up. And, there was going to be a contest. After some thought I did dress up.
